The prestigious Maiden Edition of AREWA IN VOGUE, which held on the 16th, 17th and 18th of March, 2018, welcomed the most creative and innovative names in the entertainment and fashion industry in Bauchi and beyond. The Fashion Show had over 8 new and returning designers showcasing their collections in an official on-stage fashion pagentry. The well attended event not only welcomed guests from Bauchi and its environs, but from emerging and established talents. Also on ground were representatives of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (North East Zone), the NTA and JOJERAH TV. All were in attendance to mark the historic event which featured prominent artistes, over 70 different faboulous attires, hence, showing the significance and importance of the bi-annual event to the fashion industry and its overall contribution to the economy of the Nation! This year’s edition of AREWA IN VOGUE focused on ‘Positive Fashion’ -a platform designed to promote and celebrate diversity, sustainability and openness. It aims at encouraging fashion to be used as a platform to promote entrepreneurship and decency in the society. AREWA IN VOGUE promote the inclusivity of the fashion industry in positioning Arewa as a national hub for inclusiveness, openness, creativity, decency, innovation and commerce. HOW IT WENT DOWN Day 1: The event started on Friday, 16th March, with a Trade and Fashion Fair. The venue featured sales, motivational speeches and performances from vendors, Phil J Writer and Trinity music group. The whole surrounding was fun filled with loud music. People came in droves to patronize vendors. Vendors on ground include BAKERS ELEGANCE, IGOLD SUAVE, GRACE YUNUSA’S CD, KARIS ICE CREAM, MITCHELL and lots more.

Day 2: The second day featured the Official Unveiling, Fashion show and and continuation of the Trade and Fashion Fair. It started at about 5pm with a fashion pagentry which had on the runway, different Designers displaying their collections to the thunderous applauding crowd. Collections from Designers such as Babs Scissors, Jahmeel Clothing, Rhodaski Bridals, Bauchi Fashion Academy, Ben’s Clothing and Rzagi Fashion House were displayed by models on the runway.

Day 3: The last day featured a Musical Concert featuring top Artistes like BOC Madaki, Cman, Lemuel Knight, Viper X, Budicious, IB, Kalito, Mizbanq, Kim Taylors, Skyman and a host of others.

1.TOP MEDIA HOUSES GRACE TH EVENT
The presence of Nigerian Television Authority, JOJERAH TV and Lumi Photography at the event created a media friendly environment with a lots of media activities such as red carpet interviews and photo-ops for celebrities and designers, video coverage…etc.
2.NIGERIAN TOURISM AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION IN ATTENDANCE.
The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), the umbrella saddled with the resposibility of promoting tourism in the country sent in representatives from their North East Zonal office to witness the event. Mr Nelson Lucas, who spoke on behalf of the Corporation, explained that AREWA IN VOGUE is one event they are proud to partner with as it provides a platform to showcase the Arewa fashion culture to the world. 3.
