Sabiu Zaranda’s diatribe against Musa Azare
This is my second rejoinder to Sabiu Zaranda’s, article with the title, “KATAGUM POLITICS, THE VILLAGE BOYS AT WAR OF WORDS.” I decided to reply to him piecemeal, to enable readers to understand well, the issues involved, as raised by him, and as replied by me.
Although Sabiu is entitled to his opinion, the content of his article exposed him as nursing some grudge against not only Musa Azare but the entire Katagum politicians except one person – Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, who I understand to be Sabiu’s best man at the moment.
Although Sabiu, in his article seems to be defending Hon. Imba, the caption of his letter, which calls the duo of Musa Azare and Hon. Imba as village boys is by extension, tacitly denigrating the people of Katagum. My reason is, Katagum cannot be said to be a village when compared to all the cities and towns in Bauchi State.
Katagum, that is Azare, is the second-largest city in Bauchi State after the capital city.
In addition, Azare is the centre of learning and intellectuality in our State, and, its people, the most cosmopolitan. It is therefore mind-boggling for a Zaranda man to call Azare man a villager.
The apparent diatribe of Sabiu Zaranda, which made him correlate Musa Azare to Femi Fani-Kayode, only exposed him, and perhaps some shadowy forces behind him, as harbouring some ill-will against Musa Azare. Only God knows their reasons. But certainly, whatever is hidden will come out sooner or later.
Equating Musa Azare to Femi Fani-Kayode is a misnomer, that’s as clear as daylight. However, the Musa Azare I know is a man of unquestionable integrity, tested and trusted by a great majority of the people.
I, therefore, challenge Sabiu Zaranda to be bold enough to tell the world why his former political party, New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP sacked him as its State Secretary and got him arrested and detained in Abuja for days, without committing an offence contrary to the law. This will help a lot in shedding light as to who is like Femi Fani-Kayode, or even worse, between Musa Azare and Sabiu or his paymaster.
Another thing that interests me in Sabiu’s article, is how he lashed out at the Hon. Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu, accusing him of refusing to accept a certain candidate for the position of the APC State Chairman, on the grounds of the candidate’s association with Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
Sabiu used the opportunity and took a swipe at the innocent Adamu Adamu, who was reportedly away when everything happened. And at the end, Sabiu used that and castigated the Katagum elite and political class.
Well, I believe the recent turn of events in our State is a pointer to what to expect in 2023. We will keep our fingers crossed. However, Musa Azare is valuable to us. And we will most definitely not fold our arms and watch minions and urchins dragging his good reputation in the mud. You guys should face your real enemies, if you have the balls, and leave Musa Azare alone.
I kwam in fiss…
