COALITION OF YOUTHS AND STUDENTS OF BAUCHI STATE PRESS BRIEFING
Gentlemen of the press, we address this pertinent press briefing with heavy hearts and disappointment to what we believe is a disrespect to our core values and traditional institution.
Recall that, on Friday 31st of December 2021 the Emir of Bauchi who doubles as the Chairman of Bauchi state’s council of Emirs (Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu) and Emir of Dass (Alh Uthman Bilyaminu Uthman) were to be in Bogoro to attend the memorial of Baba Peter Gonto (A Zaar Legend) on invitation recieved from the Zaar Development Association. However, upon reaching Tafawa Balewa town angry mob allegedly loyal to Yakubu Dogara attacked and shattered the windscreen of the Two Emirs vehicles and many more vehicles in their convoy, while also injuring many travelers.
This sad event unfolds amidst strong allegations of Dogara’s resistance against the said memorial, were he tried his very best to put a stop to the program by breaching protocol and writing directly to the Inspector General of Police while bypassing the state Police Commissioner, DSS Director and the State Governor who doubles as the Chief Security Officer of the state.
Consequently, his strong insistence against the memorial cast serious suspicion against his person, that we suspect he has hands in the unfortunate event. While also, suspecting serious power tussle between him and Professor Suleiman Bogoro as reason why he resorted to sabotaging the event obviously because Professor Suleiman Bogoro is the headliner of the said event.
By Dogara’s actions and Inactions it has so far resonates to every sensible and well meaning individuals within and outside the geographical boundaries of Bauchi state that Dogara Yakubu has hands in this crises, thus calling the attention of authorities concerned including Bauchi state government to initiate a Judicial Commission of Inquiry, to investigate this sad event while hoping that the culprits be brought before the courts to face the law.
Proactively, we cannot afford to return to those sad days of ethnic crises in Bauchi state as the 1991 Tafawa Balewa Crises still remain fresh in our memories, we are urging the state government to take serious action against him as no individual is bigger than the state.
While setting the records straight, Bauchi state will never accommodate hoodlums, hooligans and terror sympathizers. Hence, if the government refused to bring him to book we the youths of Bauchi will not hesitate deporting the culprit out of our dear peaceful state.
Conclusively, we are passionately appealing to the Emir of Bauchi to srtip off the traditional title of “JAKADAN BAUCHI” from Yakubu Dogara for the shame and disrespect he exhibited against the person of the Emir. As he is not worthy of being an Ambassador of the Bauchi Emirate.
