Consequent on that ban on all traders and artisan union in Info state, residents of the state have expressed their happiness towards the move and have continued to heap praises on the Ondo state government.
A statement issued by the Ondo State government last week banned any traders union from fixing prices and made the joining of any association voluntary, no one must be forced to Join any association.
Some of the residents of the state who spoke to Beehives gossip expressed their joy at the decision of the government.
Michael Olawole a seller of farm produce narrated the ordeal he faced in the hands of the traders union” They are very wicked,if you have maize on your farm and you are in need of money and you bring the maize to the market for sale, they won’t allow you sell it unless you are a member of the union and you have paid them”
Meanwhile it appears not everyone is happy with the decision as leaders of some of the trade union are not happy about the decision.
Dada Adebisi the state secretary of the Info state Vulcanizers Association said” we are not happy about these decisions as the government should have told us (the leaders of the union) before taking the decision”
