MUSIC & VIDEO: A-Q – God’s Work (Joyner Lucas’ Reply)

Nigerian lyricist A-Q returns with ‘God’s Work’, his version of Joyner Lucas’ ‘Devil’s Work’ that was released a few weeks ago.

A-Q dropped dope bars, goes deep on ‘God’s Work’ in an apparent response to Lucas. He addressed the death of notable hip-hop figure like Biggie, TuPac and others that Lucas questioned God for.

“Who killed Biggie, who killed TuPac, God ain’t do that, y’all need wisdom… Who shot Nipsey Hussle, all I saw was another man,” he raps as he also touched religious crisis happening worldwide. “Bombs in Afghanistan, ISIS, religious crisis, Boko Haram, you don’t understand,” A-Q vents his frustration begging “Holy Moses to take us to the promise land.”

He also took a swipe at social media influencers, he tagged what they do to this generation as negative. “To inspire and to influence are two different things… You influence a generation thru mobile screens, you influence drug abuse and nudity,” A-Q chants.

The wordsmith made it clear in his account that we should all allow the dead to rest while we celebrate them, advising those in support of Luca’s call for trade to ask for forgiveness and love one another to be able to understand how God works.

A-Q detonates atomic rhymes, elucidating that there’s no one without sin, and human beings are underserving and ungrateful of God’s grace and His faithfulness.

Listen, watch and ENJOY!
