Governor Sen.Bala Abdukadir of Bauchi State in response to a plea from an elderly man recently, have directed the state environmental protection agency BASEPA to commence the fumigation of public places to curb against mosquito bites.
Governor Bala Abdukadir Muhammad who was represented by the DG BASEPA Dr. Ibrahim Kabir flagged off the fumigation exercise at the agencies Head office GRA Bauchi.
He said that the exercise would be carried out across the 20 local government areas of the state.
DG BASEPA Ibrahim Kabir While briefing the press disclosed that Governor Bala Abdukadir Muhammad had directed the state Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) in collaboration with the state Ministry for Environment to embark on fumigation of public places against the Mosquito bites.
The Director General of BASEPA added that the fumigation was to ensure that the state and its people are protected from the Mosquito bites and other Deseases.
“We are here because we want to make sure in addition to the restriction, we fumigate all public areas and to keep them safe, ” he said.
He further commended the elderly Man who complained to Governor Bala Muhammad on his way for a Condelence recently over the rising cases of mosquito bites in the state.
The Director General of (BASEPA) said the exercise which is expected to last for three to Five days, is aimed at curtailing Mosquito bites and commended the state government for the release of fund for the exercise.
