Civil Unrest: Bauchi Gov’t. Establishes Police Outpost in Yelwan Tsakani

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has ordered the immediate establishment of police Outpost at Yelwan Tsakani area of Bauchi Local Government.

He also pledged to procured operational vehicles for the police and other security personnel to intensify operations around the area to guarantee peaceful coexistence in the area.

The Governor made the commitment while inspecting the level of damage caused by the civil unrest which resulted to lost of three live, destruction of houses and properties in the area.

Addressing the communities after the inspection, Governor Bala Mohammed who described the incident as an act of miscreants warns that government would not allow bad elements in the he society to disrupt the peaceful coexistence being enjoyed across the state.

He directed the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA to take inventory of the properties destroyed to enable government provide them with relief materials.

On his part, the State Commissioner of Police Umar Sanda said the police has embarked on a full scale investigations into the immediate cause of the incident with a view to brought the perpetrators to book.

Umar Sanda also enjoyed the community and religious leaders to guide their subjects by preaching the gospel of peace and tolerance for the overall development State.

The State Government has earlier imposed twenty four hour curfew in the area to avoid further escalation of the incident.
