Faruk, a Ghanian, whose address was not given, was charged by the Lagos State Government with eight counts bordering on sexual harassment.
The cleric, however, pleaded not guilty, NAN states, to the charges.
The matter was adjourned for trial by Justice Abiola Soladoye until Nov. 16.
Owolabani alleged that eight female students, aged between six and 11, had been sexually abused by the defendant.
The prosecutor argued that the defendant was threatening the victims with harm.
The crime, he said, violated the provisions of Section 261 of the Lagos Criminal Code, 2015.
